Monster update! New SEX POT ReVeNGe, MAXICIMAM and Innocent World!

Yesterday capped off a big week for us in terms of new stock. After our first shipment from Angelic Pretty earlier in the week, we received three shipments in one day yesterday. Five boxes worth of clothes and accessories, many of which are geared towards either winter wear or holiday gift-giving, including one more new brand for us.

First, join us in welcoming punk/Lolita brand MAXICIMAM to the fold!

Those of us who have been to our store may recognize that as our future shoe area. Does this mean we won't be getting shoes? Not at all - with all that we received yesterday, we just have more clothes than rack space right now. We'll be adding new racks and shelves soon.

We ordered mostly from the "MA" side of MAXICIMAM, which is the punk side. (We do have two totes and a parasol or two from "MAM", the Lolita side.) Check out how cool these t-shirts are - the print on the one closest to the camera is actually silver paint:

These are all $37. We also have matching mufflers/scarves, totes and parasols in several different prints. Many new accessories in our display case too, all priced at stocking stuffer levels!

Our second shipment came from SEX POT ReVeNGe. Finally, winter coats! We received the SPR Military Jacket in both black and white cross-check, and in M and L - the only two sizes they make. These are unisex jackets, like most of their clothes. They're very heavy and extremely warm. We also restocked a limited number of the popular Devil Scissor Gorgeous Parkas, although we did have to nominally increase the price by $6 due to shipping costs and the still-sinking exchange rate. We're confident that with all costs included, you still won't get this parka to your door for less than we charge from anywhere else.

More from SPR: new custom t-shirts, winter mufflers and hats, wristbands, a restock of the SPR "R" chain in pink, and this:

XL and XXL t-shirt samples! SPR has never produced t-shirts in these sizes, so they wanted our feedback on what would work best for the American market. They will hopefully do some test runs in one of these sizes soon. (Whichever size they go with will probably be called XL, but it might be closer in size to a Japanese XXL.) We'll keep you posted on this.

Last but not least, for our Lolita fans, we received a bunch of new Innocent World items! We stocked up on hair accessories including bows and floral headbands, we have many new socks, rings, necklaces, mini pocketbooks and more. All Innocent World jewelry also includes a cute velveteen carrying pouch imprinted with the Innocent World logo.

Maybe cutest of all are the ear muffs you can see on the left of the display case below - we have these in both black and white/pink. It's hard to see in the photo but these do have a bow on one side of the headband.

If you're looking for tops, we also got new blouses, pullovers and cardigans, in black and pink.

We'll do our best to get these items up on our web site soon, though honestly, this is a lot of stuff! It's all available in our store right now. The SPR jackets, hats and mufflers should be on the site tonight!

Quick note: extended holiday hours!

Just a quick little blog post to let you know what we're planning for our holiday hours. Through the week of December 28, we will be open six days a week - Monday through Saturday. This week only, we will open late on Monday (tomorrow) to give us time to work on installing our fitting area. We plan to open by 4PM at the latest tomorrow, and will remain open until 8PM.

Otherwise, from next week until the beginning of January, we will be open Monday-Saturday 12:30-8PM.

Angelic Pretty Dreamy Doll House update

We know some of you are waiting anxiously for us to get in the Dreamy Doll House series from Angelic Pretty. So here are some details of what we'll have and when we'll have it for sale.

We came in pretty late to the process for this series - contact with AP was re-established just as the reserve period was ending. So this is what we managed to secure:

Dreamy Doll House round collar jumper skirt (pink x dark pink)
Dreamy Doll House square collar jumper skirt (black x black)
Dreamy Doll House skirt (pink x dark pink)
Dreamy Doll House skirt (black x black)
Dreamy Doll House headdress (pink x dark pink)
Dreamy Doll House headdress (black x black)
Dreamy Doll House barrette (pink x dark pink)
Dreamy Doll House barrette (black x black)

Unfortunately, socks in these colors were already sold out when we ordered.

The prices will be similar to what we've offered before, using the same formula. To get an idea, go to Google and type the Japanese price (from the links above) followed by "in dollars". (For example, type "27090 yen in dollars".) We then add a small amount (typically $10 or less per item depending on weight) to help cover shipping from Japan. We will post the exact prices when we post the products to our web site.

If you are interested in these items and would like to order them in advance, you can do so by emailing us and telling us what items you're interested in. We can then set up a transaction by PayPal. We will update this post if anything sells out in advance. You can, of course, just take your chances and wait until we post these items for sale on our web site or put them on the rack in our store. But new Angelic Pretty prints do tend to go fast, so there is a chance you might miss out in that case.

There is one restriction, and that is that those wanting full sets (meaning a jumper skirt or skirt and all the matching accessories we have) will get priority. We will assign your place in line based both on when you email us and also on what you're ordering.

We will let you know when we receive and post this series! We expect to have it all in stock sometime towards the end of next week.

UPDATE: We've posted sets up for reservation. Currently they're just mixed in with our other Angelic Pretty items. We'll work quickly on putting them in their own collection, but for now, here are direct links:

Angelic Pretty free bonus!

Here's a quick little bit of good news. We received literally a few of the Milky-chan makeup pouches pictured above as a free novelty, so we're giving them away to whoever purchases the Star Night Theater jumper skirt, or the first of any of the AP blouses we have in stock (here's white, black and pink). Yes, this is an extremely limited offer! (One's already gone, so we've got two left at the moment!) These pouches even have interior pockets for you to store various things separately.

Offer good in store or online! It won't show up in your cart online, but we will include it in the box if you meet the above requirements.

Announcing our "newest" brand!

What's this?!

As some of you who have been following us may remember, Angelic Pretty was actually the first brand we ever met with. We were offered a contract and we announced them as a new brand about six months ago. And so began an on-again, off-again relationship that led us to finally just shelve the whole thing a while back. But things in this world do change. And things have changed. So, welcome back, Angelic Pretty!

A selection of cuteness from Angelic Pretty is now in stock in our store. We'll be adding items to our web site over the next several days.

You can probably understand why we wanted to wait to announce the brand name until we actually had some clothes to sell. Sorry for not doing a group order ahead of time, but it wouldn't have made sense for obvious reasons. We'll let you know the next time we're about to order from them.

Ok, so what do we have, and what does this mean for the future?

The current stock includes blouses, wallets, handbags, totes, parasols, hair bows, and a decent selection of socks. Most of it is non-series specific, so you can wear it with anything. We did this on purpose.

Here's the deal: Angelic Pretty does not keep a large stock of clothes for retailers to pick and choose from. They produce enough of their most popular prints to satisfy initial orders and that's pretty much it. (This is common in the industry.) We were able to get one each skirt and jumper skirt in pink only for the Star Night Theater series. All of the pink accessories, however, are sold out. We didn't think it was worth getting a lot of other series accessories and socks if you can't get the skirt or jsk with it, though, so those are the only series items we got.

However! We do now have access to their reserve items in the future. And we will be carrying them. The first series that we will have - already ordered! - will be Dream Doll House. We will carry this series in pink and black (two separate colorways) only. Future series we may carry in other colors depending on demand. We can't take actual reserve orders for Angelic Pretty (like we can for certain other brands), but if there's interest, we can probably come up with some way for you to order particular colors and then only pay once we've verified that we can get what you want. We'll see what happens! Start thinking about their next collection too!

Anyway, we're very excited to finally have Angelic Pretty in our store, and we hope and fully expect that this will now be a long and fruitful relationship.

UPDATE: You can now visit our Angelic Pretty collection page as we add new products. We're using placeholder images for the main image right now, but we'll take photos of these items shortly. We just want to post them as soon as possible.

KERA vol. 137! And G&L Bibles are back!

Received our shipment of KERA volume 137 today - the January 2010 issue. The covergirl this month is Aimi, lead signer and guitarist for the great all-girl rock band Stereopony. If you haven't heard of them, check out the video - they're fun:

The issue's theme is outerwear. A lot of you have been asking us when we're going to get in more winter coats, and this is an indication of how late Japan is that the fashion magazines are just now picking up winter coats for their January issues. Japan's just warmer than here. But we'll have more soon - the brands are just now releasing their new cold-weather stuff.

Also, we have restocked Gothic & Lolita Bible no. 34, and we're reducing the price on this issue to $20. (Ignore what it says on the sign below, we're changing that!) Different supplier, lower cost.

Lastly, we do still have a limited quantity of KERA volume 135 in stock at a reduced price of $7. (We're completely sold out of volume 136.) If you missed this issue, get it while you can!

What's new and upcoming

Just a quick update on some things we've got going on in store and online:

* We've added new reserve items to our Victorian maiden reserve page. It's a mix of brand new items and reissues (often with new colors or specs), so check it out if you missed out on anything they've offered in the recent past. Reservations on the new items will only last until November 22, so act fast!

* We're in the process of stocking up for the holidays. SEX POT ReVeNGe, Maxicimam, Innocent World, and more are all coming. Unfortunately we can't give you an ETA right now, but we're trying to get them all ASAP. Yes, SEX POT winter coats are part of this. Our other brands will be restocked soon as well.

* The first "surprise brand" shipment we've been talking about in our store (and maybe we mentioned it here?) is finally on its way, and should be here in a few days. We'll do a big reveal when it finally arrives. Can't wait! Some of you are gonna be shocked. We were!

(Ok, one hint so your expectations don't stray too far: it's not a gothic brand.)

* We're in the process of creating a point card system. Soon, our store visitors will receive a card for spending over a certain amount, and get it stamped whenever they spend that amount on future purchases. There will be a reward for filling up your card with stamps. This is common in Japanese boutiques and we got a couple emails in favor of it from our suggestion box post too, so let's try it out! We're still working on the details, but expect this within the next month or so. As a special bonus, anyone who keeps their receipt between today and when the point cards are offered can get a retroactive stamp on their next visit! This is good in-store only (as are the cards themselves - sorry, we just don't have a way to do it online).

We'll have more on this at a later date!

That's all for now...

VK day at Tokyo Rebel

We've already had several Lolita meetups pass through our store; yesterday another side of Japanese street fashion was represented as a number of the New York area VK crowd came in for a little photo shoot. The shoot was for the upcoming magazine KMK, which we're told should hit around January of 2010 if all goes well. Look out for it!

Here's a group shot we took, as some of the group crowded into the back of our store:

Lots of good looking people in that photo! Some of them wearing clothes they got from us :)

The Suggestion Box Post

It's been a little more than a month since we opened, and a lot of people have now had the chance to see our store and obviously our web site. We want to know what you think! You can use this post to give us some suggestions and what you would improve, to either the store or site (or both). Should we... paint the store bright pink? Make all of the text on our web site blink? Put a giant glass fish tank under our store floor? If you don't want to suggest in public here (or on Facebook or wherever you're reading this), then feel free to email us and keep things private. Don't be shy - tell us what you'd add, what you'd change, what you'd fix. Hey, it can't hurt. You might even get your wish.

Innocent World and Maxicimam batch orders! NOW CLOSED

Next we'll be doing a double-barrelled set of simultaneous orders: Innocent World and Maxicimam! This will be our first-ever order with Maxicimam, and the first sweet Lolita style clothes in our shop!

As always, we will be stocking various items for our store, but if you see anything in particular on either of these brands' web sites that you like, we can probably get it for you, and without much of a wait. Prices are set at the Japanese price at the current exchange rate, plus a maximum, depending on the item, of $10 to cover shipping from Japan. If you want to figure out the price for yourself, just go to Google and enter "XXXX yen in dollars" (replacing the X's with the Japanese price) and Google will spit out a dollar amount. Then we'll add at most $10 for the overseas shipping, depending on the item weight and size.

As a special promotion this time, if you spend over $100 through this batch order, the shipping charge from us to you will be free! Our in-store customers can take 5% off their total in lieu of free shipping.

Keep in mind that any orders picked up in our store, or shipped to NY state, may be subject to sales tax if they're over $110 or they're certain types of accessories.

We take a 30% deposit payable either through PayPal (for those who want their items shipped) or through our store. Note that we do expect full payment of the balance immediately upon our receipt of your items from Japan - failure to pay your balance within a week will cause you to lose your special/batch/group order privileges from that point on.

Take a look at the two brands' web sites:

Innocent World - click "shopping", then use the links at the top of the page.

Maxicimam - click one of the sub-brand links at the top, then the links in the middle of the page. You can use Google translate, like this. For reference, Maxicimam "Ma" is punk, Maxicimam "Mam" is sweet Lolita.

If you see something you want, send us an email with the following info:

Subject: (Brand name) Special Order
Your name
Your email address for PayPal invoicing
Your phone # (just in case)
The item name
Any color/options you want
A direct link to the item page (this is tricky with Innocent World's site, but it can be done - if you can't figure it out, just link to a photo and tell us what it is)

If you'd like to do this in our store, you can download and print out our special order form to fill out and bring in with your deposit.

If you have any questions, please ask!

Reminder: One day left for Rose Garden reserves!

Just a quick reminder - you have only a little more than 24 hours left to get in your Victorian maiden Rose Garden series reserves! After that, the price goes up, and we may not even be able to get what you want anymore. We will not be stocking the entire line ourselves, only select items in certain colors.

Ensure you get what you want - at the introductory price - and reserve before it's too late. The reserve period for this series ends on the 7th at 10PM EST.

Gift Certificates

With the holidays approaching, we are now offering gift certificates both online and in our store. What better way to show someone how much you love them than with the gift of rock, punk, gothic or lolita clothing? This is one of the things we've been asked the most to begin offering, so here you go!

We've got a gift certificate page that explains a bit more about it and has a link for you to order an online gift certificate. If you'd like to buy one in our store, just come in and ask. They look just like the one pictured above, and come with a nice envelope and everything.

Last night, we finally received a few new things from Gothic Lolita brand ATELIER-PIERROT. It was worth the wait! Excuse the crappy cell phone pics - we'll take better ones for our web site within the next several days:

We've already sold several pieces, including two of the print skirts you see in front there. We'll try to get more of these in our next shipment, but it's going to take a little while. If you like this print, we only have one red one left and that's it for now. We'll have it on our web site soon, if it lasts. If you really want to order it before that, email us and we'll just set it all up through PayPal.

We also received two different mermaid skirts, blouses with tails (in black and white), a beautiful black-on-black floral print one-piece dress, and a restock of the type 1 petticoats (also in black and white). Only $44 for a "brand" petticoat!

Unfortunately, the company was all out of corset bustle skirts - even the ones they still make. Hopefully next time!

Here's a full rundown of what came in, with prices and links to Atelier-Pierrot's product pages (until we get our own up):

Rose Bouquet One-piece (black): $249
Swallowtail Frill Ribbon Blouse (white): $169
Swallowtail Frill Ribbon Blouse (black): $169
Chiffon Mermaid Skirt (black): $199
Romeo & Juliet Frill Skirt (black): sold out!
Romeo & Juliet Frill Skirt (red): $199
Cutsew Mermaid Skirt (black): $119
Petticoat (pannier) Type 1 (white): $44
Petticoat (pannier) Type 1 (black): $44

The petticoats are already on our web site - the rest will be posted soon. It's all available now in our store.

Halloween photos!

Ok, so we're still in the process of hacking together a proper photo gallery that'll integrate seamlessly into our web site. One of the downsides of having a "simple" retail web site is that major customizations are not that easy, and we're working on revamping the nav at the same time. (Kinda necessary, since there's no way to fit a link to a photo gallery right now.)

But for now, since some of you have been waiting to see some pics, we'll just post them here as a slideshow. Here are some of the people who visited us on Halloween - those who were dressed in something Japan-related (costume or not) and agreed to have their photos shown. Everyone looked great! And if you haven't been to our store, you get a nice idea of how much variety there is in the styles worn by those who visit our shop. The captions tell what they're wearing, if we managed to find out. You can click through to the set on Flickr for better quality.

VM Rose Garden reservation period change

Just a quick but important note to any of you who are planning to reserve any of Victorian maiden's Rose Garden series. The reservation period actually ends on November 7th at 10PM EST. This is one day earlier than we'd posted originally. There was a little bit of a miscommunication due to the differing date/time zone between the US and Japan. But this actually puts us more in line with Victorian maiden's own web site, which is also ending the reserve period on the 7th.

We advise not waiting until the last minute, because VM is very strict about reserve closing times.

Victorian maiden - now accepting official reserve orders!

We mentioned this on our Facebook and Twitter - we are now officially authorized by Victorian maiden to accept reserve orders for all upcoming products! So for you Victorian maiden fans out there, here are the details:

The first set of products we have up for reserve is the Rose Garden series, to be released in January and February of 2010. There are 13 products in this collection (only six are pictured above, but we are reserving all of them). This collection is a beautiful original floral print design available in three colors: Blue Moonlight, Classic Rose and Orange Leaf.

Please note the reserve period for all of the Rose Garden series is November 1-7 only. (Note the date change! Ending one day earlier!) After that, you will no longer be able to reserve them. If you want them later, you will need to take your chances that VM is not sold out, and you will need to pay full price.

We will also be accepting reservations for the re-release of the Standcollar Frill Blouse shortly.

We've set up a new Victorian Maiden Reservations collection page that explains the entire process and contains all of the products up for reserve.

You may ask yourself what the advantages to reserving are, even if you're a VM fan. The answer is twofold:

1. Instead of hoping we stock what you want or that your special order isn't sold out, you will now be able to get everything VM releases going forward, shortly after its release. The only exceptions are items VM keeps as exclusive for their Press Shop in Japan.

2. Reserve order pricing. There is often a significant difference between the reserve price and the regular price, with reserve pricing being much lower. All of the Rose Garden series are being offered at introductory prices that are 10-20% off their regular prices!

Please make sure to read the instructions on the collection page (linked above), and pay particular attention to the items under, well, "Attention" (that's why we called it that!).

And please don't hesitate to ask us any questions about the process, either here or by email.

Upcoming Order Schedule

The following is our approximate schedule for future orders we plan to place with our brands, subject to change at any time. If you are interested in special ordering an item, you can use this as a guide for when to order. We recommend ordering 1-2 weeks in advance. Please email us to start a special order.

  • PUTUMAYO - ordered, awaiting shipment
  • Innocent World - ordered, awaiting shipment
  • Listen Flavor - early March
  • Lumiebre - early-mid March
  • Yosuke USA - just arrived!
  • VICTORIAN MAIDEN - schedule varies, contact us
