You may have noticed a few new icons on the homepage and blog. We've now got a bunch of ways for you to follow what we're doing, give us feedback and show us how much you like us :)
First, there's still this blog. We'll continue to post all of our major news here. But blogs can be kind of lonely places... so...
Twitter - besides the blog, Twitter is really Tokyo Rebel central. All of our blog and product updates get automatically linked at our Twitter account, and we're increasingly using it to post smaller news that isn't worth a full blog post or even just to chat. Basically everything going on with us you'll see at our Twitter. It's also a good way to ask us a quick question or give us some feedback. Don't be nervous - we're pretty easygoing.
Facebook - like Twitter, all of our blog posts get posted automatically to our Wall (though not product updates - it only takes one RSS feed). And we'll be using this account to keep track of all of our events, like our attending the New York Anime Festival or our store opening (once we know when it is). We also keep a selection of photos there.
Flickr - obviously, our main photo posting area. We have both product photos and photos we've taken or gathered elsewhere - some of which you haven't seen anywhere else!
MySpace - we don't keep this as updated as Facebook or Twitter, mostly because MySpace just doesn't make it as easy to do it. But the account is there if you like MySpace and want to be our friend. One nice thing is that MySpace is a lot more well known in Japan than some of these other sites, so some of the KERA models (and their bands) are our friends :)
LiveJournal - we're just starting out there, so there's not a lot on our page right now. But become our friend and help us fill out our profile! We know that LJ is Lolita central, so we're definitely following EGL and even commenting there sometimes.
We hope you'll add us as friends and contacts!

Hot on the heels of our last blog post, we're also announcing that we've finished posting all of the SEX POT ReVeNGe products we've brought back from Japan as well!
We got some wicked cool stuff from them - take a look. In addition, everyone who places an order containing at least one SEX POT ReVeNGe item will receive an official SPR-branded vinyl bag - just like you'd get from their stores in Japan.
Some of our favorite items in this batch:
Hell Bitch One-piece - in black/white or black/red leopard print - $89
This is a fantastically sexy little dress at a great price.
Crash Custom T-shirt - black or white - $64
A.I. Crazy Necklace - totally hand-made, must see! - $49
100% custom. No two of these are exactly alike.
More under the cut!
"R" Lock and Chain - $20
Rad Punx Tank Top - $29
A kickass piece of summerwear for not much money.
Guitar Pick Necklace - $38
Black Nine Gimmick Pants - denim - $128
We only stock these in dark blue denim, but the form is the same as the black cotton ones Megu is wearing above. If you really want the cotton ones, we will see about special ordering them for you.
Check out all of the new SPR products we've posted up, and watch for more new stuff on a regular basis.
Ok, some of you have probably figured this out by now, but since we said we'd let you know when we were done...
All of the products we brought back with us from Japan are now up. (Don't worry, we'll be receiving more new products regularly from now on.)
We think there's a lot of great stuff in there. See the full collection of new Algonquins products. A few highlights:
2-Way Oversprayed t-shirt - $69 (on sale!)
"25" Crown Jumper - $69 (on sale!)
Diamond Wristwatch - $88
More under the cut!
Butterfly wallet - must see! Cute and very useful! $49
Patty-chan - $15
You should have seen Algonquins' eyes light up when they talked to us about Patty-chan. This is their mascot character and a lot of their clothing designs are based on it, so they obviously feel a personal connection. They sell thousands of these things every week in Japan.
2-Way Boston Bag - in pink or grey - $88
This is one of two new handbags we have from Algonquins.
Garter Belt Frill Mini-skirt - in black or pink crosscheck - $128
This is one of Algonquins' most popular skirts. If you're new to this sort of thing, the garters just go around your legs. Very cute! See KERA model Ayumi Yamauchi wearing the pink cross-check version of this skirt on this page.
Don't forget to look at all the newly added Algonquins products!

Just wanted to let you guys know that we've completed and sent our first Angelic Pretty order, in large part based on the comments we received at EGL. Yes, that means lots of socks socks SOCKS! It also means we went broad rather than deep, picking a few things in each category rather than everything in one particular line or many items in one category.
It's a small order, something of a test, but we'll be continuously adding things from this point forward. That will be especially true of anything new - we expect to order most of the major new releases as they hit.
One thing: Angelic Pretty stuff does sell out fast from the company itself. We would have ordered more if we could have. As it is, you can expect to find at least a couple of different jumper skirts, blouses, panniers, bags, and hopefully about a half a dozen different types of socks (in different colors) as part of this first shipment. One of the jsk's is all BLACK - Angelic Pretty is not often associated with gothic or kuro Lolita, but they do make some clothes in those styles and they are actually quite beautiful.
We will let you know when it arrives. It's in Angelic Pretty's hands as we speak.

First, another big brand announcement is coming! We're going to keep the "who" a secret a little bit longer, until we have some products to actually sell to you. But we think some of you are going to be really happy. It's a well known brand in a totally different genre than the two brands we've signed up previously. We'll make a full announcement when we're ready, but we just wanted to give you a little tease for now.
Second, we're going to be making some improvements to our product collection pages over the weekend (and possibly beyond that), tweaking the navigation and layout a bit. This is necessary in order to accommodate all the different brands and product types we now have. It'll make things easier for you guys to find once we're done. But what it means is that you may occasionally see some wonkiness on these pages during that time. We're going to try to do as much as possible offline, but there are certain things that we can only do live on the site. So just bear with us if you see anything funky - we're probably aware of it, and working on it as you're seeing it.
UPDATE: Collection page updates didn't really happen - they will sometime this week. The aim is to add sub-menus for different categories, which is actually a lot of work. It'll get done...
That is all!

Any of you who placed orders over the past ten days will have them shipped this week.
We hope you guys enjoy the fruits of our labor from our Japan trip. We made distribution deals with Algonquins and SEX POT ReVeNGe, and we're still in talks with several other companies. Not bad for a week's worth of negotiations!
Several of you have expressed both in the comments here and in emails to us that you'd like us to carry more Lolita style clothing. We're well aware of this and we haven't forgotten you guys in the Lolita community.
The goal has always been to carry a wide range of Japanese street fashion. For the time being, Lolita style will continue to be represented in our vintage and used selection. But we're still talking to various brands that we think might fit in with our overall image, and we'll hopefully have at least one more deal done soon.
For the punks out there, have fun! We brought back a bunch of SPR and Algonquins clothing and accessories direct from the source, and we'll be getting new stuff shipped in regularly from now on. We're working on posting what we currently have as we speak - some of it you really won't want to miss. From t-shirts to jeans to one-pieces to accessories to handbags, there's something for every desire. Subscribe to our product feed, or just keep watching the blog - we'll update with a listing of the new postings once we're done.

Yesterday we met with Algonquins and casually asked if we could bring you guys a photo tour of their store to show off the brand image and some of the specific products we'll be carrying. They were nice enough to say yes.
Algonquins actually has two main locations, one in Harajuku's Laforet department store and another in Shinjuku. Laforet is kind of an amazing but two-headed beast - we'd have needed permission not just from Algonquins but also from Laforet to take any pictures there, so we didn't. The Laforet store is really small, so the Shinjuku store is easier to photograph anyway.
The Shinjuku store actually used to be in Marui One, another big department store that's just across the street. They moved a while ago into their own space. It's a really cool and cute store!
We'll be carrying the watches you see below, plus a couple other things here:
Watch for these bags on our site soon:
Below is Algonquins' mascot character "Patty-chan". So cute! These are incredibly popular in Japan - Algonquins' sell 1,500 of them per week! Use them as cell phone straps, keychains, hang them from your handbag, or whatever. Watch for these on our site too!
Quick - how many people in the photo below? There are actually three - the girl behind the counter ducked at the last second.
We hope you enjoyed this visual introduction to Algonquins' current products, many of which you'll see on our site soon.

We're ready to make our second announcement this week:
We are now an authorized dealer of Algonquins products. This applies both to our current web store and future physical store in NYC.
We'll have a small selection from Algonquins' Summer 2009 collection posted to the site within the next couple weeks. After that, we'll be receiving new products from them on a regular basis, so we'll have more from the summer collection later as well as fall and winter (and beyond) as they're released.
We're excited to have Algonquins on board with us, representing the "dark cute" Japanese punk genre. Their designs are always popular in Japan for being colorful, sexy and cute, while at the same time incorporating some surprising and contrasting hardcore elements. We've obviously been carrying Algonquins clothes on our site since the beginning, but we can't wait to be able to feature their latest collections as soon as stores in Japan get them.
Watch tomorrow for an Algonquins store tour!
Yesterday we announced that we'll be carrying the latest collections from SEX POT ReVeNGe in the very near future. Today we visited both of the company's stores in Harajuku, and we thought you might like a little visual tour.
SEX POT Tokyo: FLEG HARAJUKU B1, 1-9-29 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo
SEX POT ReVeNGe: RANZAN Annex 1F-B,1-8-25 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo
SEX POT's two stores are located within blocks of each other just off Takeshita Street, the main pedestrian drag in Harajuku. SEX POT Tokyo is the newer of the two stores, and it's a little more glam than the original location. We were lucky enough to meet Megu there, who is both the main model for the company's clothes (that's her on the official web site) and the store manager of SEX POT Tokyo:
Both SEX POT stores are small, as shops in Tokyo almost always are. So they're pretty packed with stuff. SEX POT Tokyo has a pretty open feel for such a small store, though.
The original SEX POT ReVeNGe store is a little rougher, more hardcore.
We'll be carrying many of the latest products you see in these photos ourselves soon.
Tuesday, June 2, 2009
We promised you news, and we're now ready to bring some to you. As we begin the process of expanding beyond our initial product base of mostly used and vintage clothing, we've been in talks with several of your favorite brands in Japan to carry their newest and most current collections. We're ready to make the following announcement:
As of today, we are an official SEX POT ReVeNGe authorized dealer. This is true both for our future physical store in NYC and our current web site.
For the next week or two, you'll just have to take our word for it. We're putting together an initial order as we speak, and you'll see those products on the site soon after our return to the United States. You can expect some changes to our web site during that time as we begin to feature the brands that we've made distribution deals with much more heavily, and as we begin to better organize those brands' collections.
This will hopefully be the beginning of a long relationship with SPR and their parent company STAY FREE LTD. They're excited to be working with a New York-based store and, as Japan's premier hard punk brand, we are excited to help them promote their unique designs in the United States. You might even see some rare goods pop up now and then, and maybe even a few things you can't get anywhere else!
Stay tuned for more in the coming weeks... including more on SPR, and potentially including further major announcements.
