Many of the people who have visited us over the past couple days have either expressed concern over the events taking place in Japan, or they've asked us when we expect our future shipments in (especially from Baby, the Stars Shine Bright). So while we've talked about the earthquake on our Facebook and Twitter previously, we just want to post a short update here.

First, many businesses in Japan remain closed due to rolling blackouts, fuel shortages and road and rail disruptions. Many of our brands have posted updates to their web sites to let everyone know they are okay, but only a few of them are attempting to operate as usual. Osaka was not affected by the earthquake in a major way, but Tokyo was, with all transportation cut off, lost power, and food and fuel deliveries disrupted. Many of our brands also have stores in the Sendai area, and as you can imagine, they are now dealing with the cleanup there. (As far as we've heard, all of their employees are okay.)
It is possible and even likely that any future shipments we were expecting will be delayed a bit by this disaster. We do have some great new stuff from both Atelier-Pierrot and Putumayo, some of which we're going to talk about in a post following this one. But if you're waiting for Baby, the Stars Shine Bright or Alice and the Pirates, the wait may be a little bit longer. Please be patient, and check out our other items in the meantime.
Incidentally, you may notice the Global Giving box to the right, where you can help the victims of this disaster. Tokyo Rebel has already made two donations, and additionally we're going to be donating 10% of this month's profits. We urge you to do what you can too.
